The Cutest Fruit Bath Session Ever in Abilene TX | Angela Wilson Photography
Happy Tuesday, friends! Happy August, too, while we’re at it. I thought “Junly” was never going to end, who’s with me? Man, what a strange summer! Are things ever going to get back to normal? At this point in time I kind of having my doubts! We were (and still are) extremely lucky and grateful that we have a pool in our backyard otherwise my child would probably be going insane by now.
Over the last couple of weeks, we had to make the difficult decision on whether to send our five-year-old to physical school. When poised with the question, she immediately said she wanted Mommy to teach her but then had second thoughts when she thought about all the friends she would have and the fun times. Of course, without saying it, I thought, “Umm, things might not be so fun this year” but I kept my lip zipped. I really wanted her to make the decision herself, as much as a five-year-old can. So, with all that being said, it looks like I’m homeschooling my daughter this year. Pray for me, ok? We start in two weeks.
It’s been a very long time since I’ve done a cake smash and I’m so happy to show and tell everyone about baby Karlie’s! Karlie’s mom Jaclynn approached me in early July about Karlie’s upcoming first birthday and how she’d like a fruit bath and cake smash incorporated, outdoors. Outdoors, heck yeah, talk about a super easy clean up! If anybody reading this has been part of a cake smash, they know how messy clean up can be, especially if the little one was super into it! Jaclynn showed me inspiration of what she was wanting to achieve, and it looked so fun, I was super pumped!
Karlie’s session worked out perfectly. The sun was out and hot in typical July fashion, and it really set the tone for a tropical fruit bath. What I find humorous is I bought gallons of water and set them out in my driveway for a few hours prior to the shoot – it was the perfect temperature for little Miss! As soon as we started pouring it in the tub, she was splashing about and having the time of her life.
The cake smash was just as cute because she was into it and I don’t know mom, it looks like you did a pretty good job! She got her fingers and toes all into the mix making for some genuine memorable moments. This is what I love to capture for families the most!
When we finished up we had a couple of gallons of water left so Mom rinsed her off and towel dried her right there. Therefore, I say what an easy clean up! I’ve share Karlie’s entire gallery here, have a look and give her some love by liking this blog post. I’ve been a busy girl so there are several upcoming blog posts within the next week or two, so look out for those. Enjoy!
